My Story on Witchcraft
This is how I got into Witchcraft, and some important points about the craft that I feel everyone should know.
Before I begin, I want to point out that there is one general rule which should be followed. This is a rule followed by Wiccans, but not by all Witches.
The rule is simple. “Harm None” or “Do No Harm”.
Not all Witches will follow this rule, but it is the rule of the Wiccan beliefs. I too believe this and follow it.
Wiccan and Witch are sometimes used interchangeably, but they shouldn’t be. I catch myself sometimes using them that way.
Wicca is the belief system, which is a Paganistic following. A Witch is someone who uses magic or Witchcraft. Many Wiccans practice Witchcraft. Not all Witches are Wiccan.
Wiccans often call on their Gods and Goddesses for their practices of magic and Witchcraft. Witches, although can (and often do) do the same, do not have to follow the Wiccan set of rules. A lot of Witches do follow the Wiccan ways, but are not bound by them. You will find many Witches who do not follow Wicca but instead follow their own rules.
I do not consider myself to be Wiccan, however I do agree with some of the Wiccan beliefs and practices. (Hence why sometimes I say Wiccan instead of Witch.)
I find that people have a tendency to hide the fact that they are a Witch or Wiccan or even Pagan. I myself have hidden this. Not so much “hidden” but I don’t go around telling everyone “Hey, I’m a Witch” or anything. I’m open enough about it to those that ask, but I’m not generally forthcoming.
I tend to show my Psychic side more than I show my Witch side, however I use both hand in hand. I feel if you can use both, you are ahead of the game and have more control over each individually.
You have to embrace your inner Witch and use those powers in everyday life.
I call myself a Witch. A Witch I am and shall forever be.
I was raised Catholic, but never felt right with those ways and beliefs. I’m sure many Wiccans, Witches, and Pagans can relate.
I grew up knowing that there was something better out there, something that suited me more. And when it called to me, I listened.
Being Psychic, I figured Witchcraft was a good path to follow. I figured I could use my psychic abilities to help me with spells to help change things in my life and all around me.
Well, I was right, it was a great choice of path and it has helped me in a lot of ways.
From Witchcraft, I flowed into reading Tarot, and to healing people from a distance. When I got to the healing stage, that’s when I found out how powerful I really am.
Witchcraft and Me, With Some Pointers Mixed In
Since around the age of 18 or 19, I have been drawn to Witchcraft. Something was pulling me to start learning about it at that age. So, I bought some books; and supplies shortly thereafter.
My supplies consisted mainly of candles, essential oils, incense sticks, and herbs. I tried to get what I could for the spells that were in the books I had.
From then, I did many simple spells, mostly just candle magic.
When doing spells, I had trouble visualizing at first, but once I got the hang of it, it became easier and easier.
When I first started out, I was unsure. I went by the book for a lot of the things that I did.
All my spells came from books. I used what was already established before me by other Witches.
Scared and unsure and with no one to talk to about Witchcraft, I had to make my own way. I went on for a few years practicing, using different spells almost daily.
Then I had my son. My Witchcraft practices came to a halt.
I have recently gotten back into things (10 or so years later), and I am now different. I can do my own spells, my own way. I am more relaxed, more comfortable in my craft.
And you know something, looking back, I realize that I never really stopped using magic; I only was using it in a different way.
I use Witchcraft daily without even realizing it. And others do too, I know that now too.
The big things in Witchcraft are confidence, visualization and intent. At first, you may have trouble visualizing, but once you start and really get the hang of it, you can visualize anything. Once you start really visualizing, confidence comes along with that; add in the intent and you now have your power.
With that power, you can truly do anything.
When you believe that your spell is working, and you can see it (visualize it) working when you cast it, you will have a working spell that has power behind it. If you don’t believe and you can’t picture it, then your spell may get you nowhere. It’s all in what you believe at the time of the casting.
The more a spell has been used, by you or anyone else, the more power that is in that spell allowing that spell to work. This is why spells are shared.
My first major spell that I cast, some 15 years ago, was a protection spell. I believe it was called a “Circle of Protection”. With this spell, you visualize a sphere of light surrounding you, encompassing you. You then charge this light with the ability to protect you from whatever you want protection from. I chose protection from harm and negative energy.
You can expand the sphere to protect as big of an area as you choose.
I couldn’t picture this light very well (or even at all) in the beginning, but now, I have no trouble with it at all. I have shields up around myself, my children, my home, my vehicles, etc. to protect us from harm.
Please keep in mind, energy that is taken and used for spells should always be channeled through you, but not come directly from you. That is very important. I didn’t know this starting out, so I had to learn the hard way.
When I first was doing spells (and even up to last year) I found that when I would cast, I would use so much energy that I would be completely drained. This would also happen when “lending” energy to someone in need.
Well, it took some focus but, I got over that hump and now it doesn’t take energy from me anymore to cast. Instead, I use the energy that surrounds us all. After all, that’s where the energy should come from in the first place.
And with sharing energy, I work as a channel that energy can be drawn from without having to give up any energy that would otherwise leave me drained.
It’s important to remember that in magic, as with anything else, if it doesn’t feel right for you, then don’t do it. You have to go with your instincts with anything that you do, especially with magic.
There are spells and incantations that have been laid out by others that work for them. Those spells and incantations work for some, but don’t work for everyone.
If all spells worked for everyone, then there would be no need for anyone to have variations, now would there?
I read a book once (a book on Witchcraft, of course), where a Witch had written, “When in doubt, leave it out.”
That Witch was talking about ingredients in a spell, but it applies to so much more than that.
I have since applied this rule to nearly every aspect of my life. It works for just about everything.
Use other spells as a guide for yourself, and if you feel comfortable with them, keep them the way they are. If you don’t feel comfortable with a certain spell, then either don’t use it, or alter it to be the way you need it to be.
Don’t be afraid to write your spells down. You should keep a log of all your spells so that you can go back to them when you need to. This will become your “Book of Shadows”.
All spells that you do are your own, and should be your own. You will get better results using your own ways, your own words, and your own ingredients than you will when you use someone else’s.
Not everything works the same for everyone, so do your own thing whenever possible.
I started with all kinds of books and all kinds of spells written by other people. But, if I didn’t have a certain color of candle, or didn’t have a certain herb, etc, then I either used something that felt right for me at the time, or I just left it out.
My spells work as long as I have the belief behind them. Yours can too. And that’s really what matters more than anything else, BELIEF.
Believe in the power that goes into the spell, believe in your abilities to cast the spell, believe in the spell’s outcome.
Believe you are a Witch, and you will be a Witch. Believe your spells work and your spells will work.
Always go with what feels right for you, and above all else, believe. You’ll soon relax into the Witchcraft and it’ll be like second nature to you.

How do I join.
Join witchcraft? Or join the forum for discussion on witchcraft?
i want to join and receive initiations in witchcraft power, thanks.
There is no “joining” witchcraft. There is no power given. It is a matter of study and learning what works for you when it comes to doing spells.
I have been struggling with knowing where to start. I always feel when someone i meet is special and i used to ask but noone seems to help or talk about this with me. Majority of the ones i asked would admit and ask me how i knew but when i began to really look into it noone is willing to talk about it. Some sort of advice would be lovely.
Start with books. Start by experimenting. Start with little, non-harmful things. Witchcraft is the power of the mind with an understanding of what is able to be accomplished through such power.
